A poem describing my hot days, and trying to cool off during the long sultry evenings.

Hovering over the lagoon

Mosquitoes busily hovering over the lagoon

On this sultry evening of late June

The candle burns in time to the music of a dance

Unheard, the flickering flame hoping to entrance

The day’s heat radiated by the sun

A little cooler now, yet still too hot to run

The fans spinning quickly around and round

Almost silent, yet spellbinding without a sound

Our favorite TV programs now at an end

Just time for us, one last email to send

As we call it a night and thoughts turn to sleep

What will we dream of? Something not too deep!
