Poem.
You used to tell me I was your angel
That I kept you on cloud nine
That I had a way of erasing
your pain and sorrow
How nothing could touch you
cause you soared so high
I remember how you used to
yearn to see me
When you used to make time for me
no matter what
How your life
was incomplete without me
I recall when you used to
love being seen with me
Although when I needed you
You were always nowhere to be found
Whether it was a extra hand
or ear to listen
When I needed that extra shoulder to cry on
After our time together,
I now look back
Only to wonder how
I could have been so blind
Your cheating on me and lying to me
Your alcoholic and abusive ways
when you seen me
While getting to know you
in the beginning
I accepted you that way,
not knowing what lie ahead for me
Not knowing how much pain I would endure
Falling in love with you the way I did
Your controlling one sided views,
as if I were a child
How Could I have been your Angel
When all the time we were together
it was hell
