I know of no way that I can say goodbye to the person I truly love for I cannot imagine not seeing her again.
I know of no way that I can say goodbye to you my love
What do you expect me to do when I see you lying there dying?
Can I just hold your hand and wipe away tears from your eyes and say we’ll meet again?
Must I jump up and down thanking God that you’ll be free at last of the pain that’s wrecking your body?
Will I sit in silence and contemplate your passing into the great beyond?
Can I talk over what you want me to do with your remains once you are no more?
Should I keep quiet and say nothing for fear of agitating you?
Or, just leave you in peace?

Some day, saying goodbye will be one of the hardest things that I’ll have to do
My dear, I don’t want ever to lose you but I know that all things must pass
You’re like that silk chocolate that keeps satisfying a perpetual taste within me
You’re like a buzzing bee that provides the honey for our nest
And you’re the light that refuses to go dim even when it’s dark

Such is my everlasting love for you
I don’t know what I’ll do when you have to say goodbye
I know that I’ll be crying and mourning for a long long time
