"God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…"

As easily and lovingly as we might
Blow a kiss to a loved one,
So God breathed the world into being -
Then gave it to man.
“Have dominion, be fruitful and multiply,” He said,
“For the earth is a paradise for you to enjoy.”
Instead, man despoiled and polluted the world
With the disease of sin,
Bringing death and decay.

But God so desired fellowship with man,
And God so loved
That once more He gave -
This time, His Son – His only Son -
That man might once again experience
A life of holiness and communion with God here,
And eternal paradise hereafter.

And can you believe that mankind goes on
Mocking, ignoring, and rejecting
This great gift?
How incredible!

People find it hard to believe what they can’t see with their own eyes, so they believe what they want to believe. A beautifully expressed poem.

God’s love knows no bounds, so does the ungratefulness of humankind. Very nice piece, timely for the lenten season, too.

I think that we should wake up every morning and say to ourselves as a reminder, that this man was severely beating and much pain was inflicted on his just so he could save us from our sins. God what an awesome gift we were given. Excellent post.
