Ever wondered how to learn a poem? Do you have a poetry recital coming up? This article will teach you how to learn a poem in no time!!! Two simple methods will make sure you know that poem well!
Method 1:
1. Read out the first line of the poem from the text. Do this three times.
2. Cover the words and try to recite the first line. If you can, say it five times. If you can’t, go back to step 1.
3. Read the first line then the second line out off the text. Do this three times.
4. Cover the text and then try and recite the first two lines five times in a row.
5. Read the first three lines off the text. Do this three times.
6. Cover the text and then recite the first three lines five times.
7. Repeat this process by adding a new line each time. Soon you will be able to recite the whole thing!!!
Method 2:
1. Write down the poem in a book or on a large, blank sheet of paper.
2. Keep writing it down until you feel that you know it.
3. When you feel you know it, cover the poem and then write down as much as you can of it.
4. Repeat this process until you can confidently write down the whole poem without looking!
