Challenging Christian men to rethink what it means to be in love, and tips on how to actively love a woman.
First, you must stop all objectifying views,
Women are God’s daughters, not old pairs of shoes.
Then your confidence and esteem as a man,
Must come from obeying God’s biblical plan.
Then by the wedding ring and marriage scene,
This warms her heart and makes it sing.
And when this sacred ceremony is complete,
Stop the lazy, cool, macho, discreet:
Open her door, push in her chair,
Midnight dance, wash her hair.
Hold her hand, kiss her cheek,
Morning coffee, walks on the beach.
Uncalendered gifts, mirrored love notes in soap,
Camping trips, pillow talks, cruises on boats.
If kids arrive, then you oftentimes,
Take them and let her relax and unwind.
Laugh often together, hold her close,
Sometimes watch the shows that move her most.
Hang tough through a financial frown,
Hugs and massages when she’s down.
Tell her, “I love you”, daily, several times,
Never let doubt set one foot in her mind.
Bed love? Simply ask what she likes,
Why guess and stumble at this lovesite?
To continue loving her as the years roll in,
Cling even harder to God to fight off sin,
For marriage is perfect, good, but disrupts this plan,
Is seeking bushbirds instead of loving the one in hand.
How do you love a woman?
By the wedding ring and marriage scene,
This warms her heart and makes it sing.
Call on God’s power to fight evil and wrong,
Then you can love her tenderly, sweetly, strong.
