Let the pains of yearning be ever silent.

Let the endless pains of want
Never rule you.
Hunger is an evil thing
And will fool you.
Causing wars and broken hearts,
Always seeming,
Always seeming minor part,
Always seeming.
Let the pains of yearning be
Ever silent.
Soon you will be exploding,
Ever silent.
Hunger is no gift of God,
But a poison.
But a poison of the times -
But a poison.

I love this style of poetry. You’ve manage to get the painful thought of hunger out there with smoothness. I’m teary eyed;but at the same time elated! Thanks!

Who are you kidding? You are conquering that mountain girl. (wink) You are pulling mountains down to you with your wonderful words. Beautiful. (This a comment I wanted to make on your title “Words” but it wouldn’t accept it)

Proud that you are my new friend!

Great point made in poetry again. Hunger causes a great deal of evil. Often causes people to do bad things, like in these bad times; many are without work and crime goes up. Nice work!

And it is so. Once again this is another well written poem.
