A poem about the Black-Winged Damselfly.
He glides swiftly across the stream
under the tiny wavering arm of God
a delicate portrayal of such alluring creation
crafted from the finest strands of iridescent thread
dangerously hypnotic like the diamond glints of sunshine
that restlessly stretch across upturned leaves
his territorial fluttering marks his way through hidden dimensions
of wild and unrestrained belonging
his wings beat the drum of diminutive helicopter blades
echoing over shimmering surfaces of water
and resting on his watch tower perch
guarding his patch and waiting for the promiscuous beauties to pass on by
and leave just as quick with the unfluctuating current
he detaches from all to laze in the stillness of limited time
black eyes of inner adumbrate thought
his speedy ethereal frame, original from his crowd
for he is resemblance of his self alone
he is the sooty-winged prince of the stream
