A poem… a description…

I am. I breathe. I function.
Not always properly.
I stand facing someone I don’t recognize.
I see insecurity, regret and fear…
His choices in life lead down a misguided path…
He searches but does not find
He wants but is unsure of what
He is desperate but does not
know why
He aches for peace within his own soul
In making wrong decisions
He learns more about himself
This someone I stand looking at
is staring back at me…
He asks for my help
And I ask for God’s…

    Hi Nick,

I saw a lot of my younger self in this piece. I experienced the results of many mistakes as a single mother. God’s lessons are often harsh and hard to handle but one thing is sure, when we finally come out on the other side, we never forget what we have learnt.

    You are almost there, Nick.

    Love and best wishes.

I wish I had your skill with a poem. I wrote one as part of a story once for school and my instrutor said it needed work. Hang in there, Nick, you will find your way. Remember God does not give us more than we can handle. If you have a lot then God really loves you.

The best part of this poem was the sincerity woven into the words you wrote, you did well and I appreciate and celebrate this.

Beautiful and well written poem! I once made bad career choices when I was a young mom. I waited after I was older to finish my career goals. I have no one to blame but myself.
