Unworthy to follow, afraid to walk away.

tanding on the banks of the despond

Looking out across the bog

All my sin set before me

I see the wrong I have done.

Should I just walk away

Or should I run

How can I face you

After all that I have done?

Unfaithful solider, ungrateful child that I am,

I’m just a fallen man.

I desired once to follow you

I hung on every word you said

Now I’m just trying not to die here

lost in this swamp of despair.

Should I just walk away

Or should I run

How can I face you

After all that I have done?

Unfaithful solider, ungrateful child that I am,

I’m just a fallen man.

Where could I turn

To whom could I go?

You’ve got the words to save my soul.

Unfaithful solider, ungrateful child though I am,

You keep holding to my hand.
