To move away and start again…

“Maybe this time will be different,”
She said quietly,
“Maybe this time
Someone will love me.”
“Maybe this time
The pain won’t invade again,”
She prayed in the dark,
“Maybe it won’t be the end.”

“Perhaps this will be the time
For it all to go my way,”
She hoped as she packed,
“Perhaps i’ll know the right things to say,
And the right moves to make.”
She looked at the stars
And said to herself
“Perhaps this time won’t be so hard.”

“I hope this will finally work out,
So i can finally be happy,”
She said to no one in particular.
“I hope it’ll be all it can be,
And i’ll be the person i need,”
She told herself at night.
“I hope this will make it better
And i can stop the fight.”

As she stared at the sky
Hoping for something more,
She whispered gently
“I bade you goodbye
You sorrow,
And misery,
I bade you to leave me,
I bade you goodbye
You hurt
And pain,
I bade you to fall away with the evening rain.
I bade you goodbye
You sad, pitiful little girl
And welcome a someone new,
I don’t think i’ll miss you,
Soon you’ll find someone else
To wreak your havoc upon.
I bade you goodbye,
And a sweet goodnight.”

She shed a tear for her old pains,
And turned and walked down the road
In the bright light
Cast by the moon,
She knew it would all be changing soon.
