When a couple reach that point in their relationship where the closeness between them doesn’t seem to be there anymore, they must work hard to get that back, because it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other, it just means life may be getting in the way and sometimes tends to harden us.

I miss the way

you used to

come up and hug me

at all times of the day,

showing your love for me.

Why you stopped I haven’t a clue.

When I think about it

I get to feeling blue.

Have I changed?

Have you changed?

If I knew the answer

I wouldn’t feel so deranged.

I hope that I haven’t

pushed you away

in some sort of way,

that I wasn’t aware of.

You are the most important person

that has ever been in my life.

I chose you for a reason,

not to be just for a season.

I chose you to share with me

a love beyond measure

a love we both could treasure,

along with providing each other

with immeasurable pleasure.

Let’s repair what has happened

to our close knit bond

and do what we must

to mend the trust

We need to entangle ourselves

in every aspect

that pertains to the other,

then we will be able

to look into each other’s eyes

and again find our lover.

DB…this is an awesome poem and demonstrates a deep need and desire to work at restoring a relationship that, like everything else in life, may have hit a snag or a bump in the road. May the magical chemistry and formula be re-discovered so that the planned journey can continue. Thanks for this great write and wonderful read. I Like It and voted to let everyone know.

Perfectly describing the place where a lot of couples find themselves. It is important that we try to work things out with the person we made our vows to before we look elsewhere for the lover that is probably still right next to us.
