A descriptive poem about love unspoken.

i could sit here dying and you wouldn’t know it
what else is there to love but you?
like rays of the sun scattered in the sea
i reach to embrace the red and the orange
yet in my empty arms all is blue.

the shackles of earth that bound me forever
i did not even know there was such a key
to unlock the deadly chains of illusion that held
this lonely heart from unconscious daydream
and into the depths of sweet, sad melody.

one look from your eyes sprung out a peerless rainbow
such colors i never knew could fill my sky
and yet as with my heart i saw them, i knew
there was no way that you saw the same rainbow in me
and no reason for meaningless hope to stand by.

as i did before, i saw the flowers in bloom
and the trees evergreen from the cool wintry air
for i didn’t know summer as it was when you came
and ’twas then that i knew i had never seen bloom
or green, or wind, or warmth, …or pain.

i could sit here dying and you wouldn’t know it
what else is there to love but you?
like rays of the sun scattered in the sea
i reach to embrace the red and the orange
yet in my empty arms all is blue.

this is a really emotional poem, especially when it reaches the fourth stanza. love the metaphor.
