A poem to my Lord about my desire for him.
I Crave
By Peggy Toolen
I can’t get enough of your love Lord;
I have an aching in my soul to learn your ways,
to soak up your goodness, and be more like you.
As you fill this emptiness within me and I pour it out to the world around me,
I find each day I crave you even more, even more than I did the day before.
All my life I’ve needed you, I just never knew what I craved.
I tried filling that hole with other things but nothing satisfied that ache.
You see it all around how people have a craving; there’s emptiness in their soul.
But this world can’t satisfy that craving in the soul, the emptiness, darkness and the cold.
I can’t get enough of your love, Lord;
I have an aching in my soul to learn your ways,
I find each day I crave you more, even more than I did the day before.
As you fill this emptiness within me and I pour it out to the world around me,
I find each day I crave you even more, even more than I did the day before.
I crave you, Lord; I thirst for you please quench that drought within.
I crave you, Lord; I ache for you. Only you can fill that void.
Everything about us was opposite of you, separated by our sin.
But you gave us a chance to be made one with you, to be with you once again.
I can’t get enough of your love, Lord;
I have an aching in my soul to learn your ways,
to soak up your goodness, and be more like you.
As you fill this emptiness within me and I pour it out to the world around me,
to soak up your goodness, and be more like you.
