This is a poem about losing someone you love, and how we all cry silently for that loved one to be back near us. Losing someone you love has no age, but can be devistating to all who suffer loss.
I cried silently when you passed away
crying to myself so as not to show my pain,
your body could not take any more
of the years you had suffered from your illness.
I miss your love and your fatherly chats
your embrace to shelter me from all worlds harm,
your guidance, your laughter and your presence
the fact that you were my best friend.
I cried when you passed from this world to the next
but was pleased to no longer see the pain on your face,
the feeling of being lonely, lost and alone,
surrounds me with glimpses of memories to our past.
I miss the fact you were my strength and my hope
my past, present and my future,
the things we did together and so much more we will miss
the love only a parent can give.
I cry silently and cry for you to come back to me
as I lay my head on my pillow and call out your name,
to help me sort through my daily problems
and to help me go on with my life.
I feel cheated that you had to go
when we had so much more we had planned together,
of the ups and downs a parent and child gives
but of the knowing that our love is unconditional.
My life is so empty without you
as you are continuously in my thoughts,
how I long to hear you say that you love me
and how proud you are of me.
your sweet child, your happiness and joy.
I should not think of this as the end
but think of it as the beginning,
for I know one day we will be together again
with your arms open waiting for me,
as only parents and children understand.
But I still cry silently, when you passed away
