A Crime Of Passionate Extremes.

Lint on my sweater and mud in my hair.

I knock at your door but there’s nobody there.

Guilt on my conscience and sand in my eyes.

Love is a word I have grown to despise.

Forgive me my lady for that which I do.

I kicked out his teeth but I did it for you.

I bashed out his windshield and murdered his cat.

They’ll criticize me in the paper for that.

Forgive me you liar for that which I do.

His teeth are still stuck in the heel of my shoe.

The fangs of a serpent, the cry of a dove.

I truly believed I had fallen love.

I climbed through your window, a rose in my teeth.

Laying there naked, your body beneath.

I believed every word that you said in the dark.

So I broke all his ribs after work in the park.

Forgive me fair maiden for what I have done.

I broke in the pawn shop and found me a gun.

Life isn’t perfect and life isn’t fair.

I shot off his toes and I ripped out his hair.

He’s hating me now in a hospital gown.

He’s hating be bad like the rest of this town.

So now I’m arrested and back here in jail.

Your hickey is gone and I’m held without bail.

I’m waiting my love for your letters to come.

I know what I did was incredibly dumb.

Believe what you wish, what I tell you is true.

I kicked in his teeth but I did it for you.
