How easy it is to let very small, insignificant things, even words, get in the way of what really matters in life. How easily we throw away wonderful opportunities for happiness and success, by blinding ourselves with anger and pride.
I Did Not Get a Kiss
I did not get a kiss when you left
I did not get a good bye
Not even a note on my pillow
To give me a reason why
So fault me for failing you
In an act you deem so important
And throw away the sum of us
Because of my lack in this one regard
We no longer can see the plus
And living together is hard
Negative this and negative that
I find fault with you
You find fault with me
No longer is the sky so blue
No rainbow can we see
In place of love and honesty
There is doubt and fear
And even when we talk things out
Do we really hear?
So set on being right
So sure to save our pride
That the real issues get lost
And truth gets kept inside
I did not get a kiss good bye
And neither my husband will you
For love has been lost
By the error of both
This fact we know to be true
Parting is never pleasant or fun
But when love turns sour
It must be done
So look in my eyes
Find the one look that belongs to you only
Remember it forever my King
For I place it upon your heart
As a seal, a ring
To tightly trap your memories of me
As a song your heart will sing
Never will you be totally free
For even when we part
Your best belongs to me
