Get to know you neighbors a little bit better.

I don’t believe you know me.

I don’t believe we’ve met.

I don’t know much about you,

and that I do regret.

We don’t have much in common.

We both like different things.

You like to paint on canvas,

and I love to sing.

We come from different backgrounds.

We both lead normal lives.

We may be different colors,

but we’re both the same inside.

I’d like to know you better.

I’d like to be your friend.

Someday our kids will play together,

I’d like that in the end.

We are always so busy, sometime we don’t take enough time to get to know people.

We are all so different….some of us so different that we don’t work well with all others, but sometimes love is merely being able to let your neighbor pass in peace and quiet.

I’m guilty of not knowing my neighbors all that well. Seems everyone is so busy living their lives outside the neighborhood that we don’t take time to get to know those right next door.

Great job, DP. The meter works and the theme of your poem here is very touching. I like this one a lot.

I especially liked the last two lines, they seem to close the thought with a hope and a perfect cap.

Just something I noticed though: in between lines 11 and 12, there almost seems like there should be a comma and a but.

Other than that, great job. Have a good day.

Stick in the mud your point is duly noted and I agree. Thank you.
