A lover’s poem, to show that sometimes being you is all; someone whom loves you really needs.
I don’t need; eloquent prose, or romantic loving poetry
I need you as my tower of strength against a stormy sea,
And to know that you will always be there for me against adversity
I don’t need; no undying vows penned by another’s hand in artistry
I need you here with me, not in a far off distance land, ova the big blue sea,
And to know that our love, you have put faith, for this is my unspoken plea
I don’t need; gestures grand or gallant romantic pageantry,
I just need the two of us; a walk on the sand, a picnic, that is just you and me
And your love for me to cherish, for all eternity
I don’t need; some words of adroitness written in fancy repartee
I need to know, what is the truth, and that you’ve open yourself up to me
And to learn what is behind the mask, that you have let me see
I don’t need a millionaire, jet setting socialite or forlorn poet by the sea,
Need your sweet, sweet kiss and arms around me fervently
And to know that you will always be my one true love for now and eternally.
I don’t need romantic getaways, holidays in far of distance lands or midnight rendezvous
Though; these things are sweet, and would love; with you to see the world anew
But nothing says you love me more than those four little words from you…
I love you too
