Such a strange but rather pleasant dream.

I had such a weird dream last night

As in my bed I restlessly lay.

I dreamt I’d inherited a castle

From a relative far, far away.

*

The castle seemed to float

On a lake of beautiful green.

And though it appeared quite derelict

It was the most ethereal sight I’d seen.

*

I took a little boat and rowed

Right up to the huge castle door,

Which opened up magically before me

So I could see some more.

*

Inside the scene was amazing,

Not ruined and worn with age.

The furnishings, rich and opulent.

The polished floors a welcoming stage.

*

A table was laden with foods

And delectable wines from around the world.

Servants bowed down before me

As more surprises were unfurled.

*

I wandered around in disbelief

At all the riches in the hall,

When I saw my family peering down at me

From the portraits on the wall.

*

Not believing this castle was mine

I lay down on a four poster bed,

When my hubby’s voice from far, far away

Wiped this lovely dream from my head.

Don’t you just hate when someone from the real world takes a great dream away. It sounds like a dream out of a fairy tale. It must have been lovely.

  • coffeeadict on Nov 18, 2011

Lovely dream, why not. Next time you should ask your hubby not to wake you…

  • Karen Gross on Nov 18, 2011

Sounds like a fun dream. I used to have dreams about huge houses with secret rooms and odd staircases, and there were often people living in the secret rooms. These were always fun dreams.

  • LoveDoctor on Nov 18, 2011

Lovely dream. It probably means that you are going to win a good sum of money soon. Dreams are expressions of wishes originating in the subconscious parts of the brain.

  • Erin Miller on Nov 18, 2011

Wouldn’t it be awesome if that dream actually came true? lol Leave it to the significant others to ruin the fantasy lol

  • Val Mills on Nov 18, 2011

  • Lady Sunshine on Nov 19, 2011

LOL. Leave it to hubby to wake you up. Dreams are elusive fantasies, but they can awaken the imagination, as your pleasant poem proves.
