A poem about total surrender to Christ that I wrote several years ago. It was true then and still is true today. When we surrender to Christ we find that we become totally free.

I give up my right to be right

I leave the dark and walk into the light

I give up my right to control all things

and take this death the cross life brings

I give up my right to be heard

Instead to concentrate on Your Word

I give up my right to be accepted

Knowing that You also were once rejected

I give up my right to life itself

whether I have beauty, strength, or wealth

I give up my right to have things to possess

and my right to be a success

I give up my right to have my own way

and commit my life to You today

I commit to You my plans and schemes

my future, my hopes and my dreams

My Christian walk, I give to You

As you make me clean and new

Everything that is a part of me

Is surrenedered to You totally

Not my will, but Yours be done

The Christ Life in me has begun

That is the kind of giving up I can relate to.
