I Had a Bad Day- Free Verse

I had a bad day today. So I wrote a free verse poem to describe it.

I had a bad day
I went to the soda fountains
To drink of their crimson
taste

But alas it was bitter
As I scaled the mountain
Down, down
down

I summoned the courage to ask you
about
your degenerative illness
BUT

My heart burst
due to the frugality
of your
conscience

I’ve come to notice I can’t
change
you

So I have given up
on this
bad
day
