It seems that no matter what I write, only poetry gets accepted. I wonder why.

I’m hating that decline

Refusing articles of mine

Saying it’s full of readability errors,

When it’s not true at all

I’ve made my pieces short,

But only poetry gets through it all.

Don’t make the pieces too short. That might be the problem, too.

    Good one with nice picture.

Great poem. I have been declined in the past too. Run the spell checker a few times. It might be that is either too short or too many glitches. If a word has a glitch, just highlight and add it to the dictionary. If not send them an email about it. Hope this helps and good luck

I just re-submit without changing anything when that happens and it usually is accepted on the 2nd try.

  • ken bultman on Nov 19, 2009

Try writing them at http://www.editor@triond.com and asking for a reason. They will usually respond with a personal email. A similar method that has worked for me is to changed the title and resubmit.

I can relate. I had some articles in the past that was declined for some reasons. Yes got to e-mailed them and ask for an explanation. guess you just have to continue submitting works though there are some works of yours in the pending list.

I’ve noticed if you save an article in the on- line editor then decide to publish it a few days later. It will take very long to publish them. Well, just sharing. Good post, Jane.

  • Themax on Nov 19, 2009

my 5 articles rejected due shortage! :(

  • Marie Antoinette on Nov 19, 2009

They may be too short, try writing longer articles, and make sure you double check your spelling and grammar. It is better to take some time checking these, than having it returned. Keep writing, you can only get better and better at it. Write at your own pace, forget about volume, enjoy the process, and learn your own speed (sometimes we get worried because we are not producing content as fast as other writers – I’m guilty of it).

Never give up, Jane. Just keep writing, sometimes rejection can turn into a stepping stone by making you work harder and be the best that you can be!!

  • diamondpoet on Nov 19, 2009

I have experienced the same thing, and had a chat with the editor about some things that I noticed.

  • Eunice Tan on Nov 19, 2009

Never give up Jane. I experience this too. Just write what we want to write

  • Momof4 on Nov 20, 2009

Don’t give up on your writing. I have had pieces rejected also, then later reposted and they were submited. Keep up the good work, you have turned out some great articles. As the saying goes, Try, Try again.
