My lessons are hard won

I fight 3 times as hard just to succeed

My life has been dictated to me

But I have my own dreams

I don’t need you telling me 

Who I Am 

Or who I need to be

I get to decide who I want to be

You take and manipulate

Did you think I would lay down and let you violate me

You force and threaten, it’s insane

Did you think I would cower and give up what’s safe

I am my own being

I have the right to say what I want to be

If you do what I hate

Then know that I will fight what impacts me

You don’t own me

I’m not your possession

I’m not your property

You don’t control me

I’m not your fantasy
