Written by: Christian A. Miles.

You’re so last summer,
Four summers now gone.
Years forgotten..
Friends just moving on.
You say you cared,
Still would always love me all along.
Could never care to wait,
Could never carry on so much weight.
My heart is heavy, and over-broken by you.
This is where you left me,
After all the ways I’ve tried to carry you.
You smile because of me,
And cry for all the same..
I was the reason behind so many tears and laughters lost.
The reason you lost your will and your faith.
I am the one that brought it back in the end.
Moshi, Moshi. Months apart..
Always leading you back to where we began to start.
Late night kisses, phone calls, and goodbyes.
This is why we never moved on.
This is why we’re still swimming in Memphis.
And proposing thoughts in parking lots.
And laughing at ones we thought we loved.
It was me, and you all along.
Brand New songs,
Radios blasting to letters never written.
Purple trunks, Napoleon Dynamite and water beds..
All made for making love.
Never saying the rights words to co-exist.
Only existing to see each other every other day.
Being the other woman, never the one you need.
July Sixteenth never letting go..
Never letting go of anything.
Never holding on either it seems.
