My Army career…

I’m a United States Army veteran
And I served my country with pride
I went in as a kid and came out a man
Wow! It was a heck of a ride!
They taught me how to march,
polish and starch, stand at attention
as well as salute
The days were long, the training
was hard for me and every other recruit
Self-discipline, honor and respect
Were taught above everything else
You see
I love my nation and the American flag
I’d gladly lay down my life
For the freedom of many
And the end of war, fighting,
communism and strife

That was full of pride! Good on you, I loved the sentiment in your poem, it was powerful. Belief in what you are doing, conviction and determination are all that is required to suceed.

Thank you for what you did! You and all of the other veterans!
