I can’t believe it’s happening again.

I fought with all my might,
To not give you my heart.
Others tread on it so easily,
I thought it wise to not let you start.

But you you wore me down,
With patience and understanding.
You never once gave to much or too little,
Despite all my demanding.

You always found a way,
To meet me half way,
So when I thought about it,
I had no other choice but to say.

“I love you”

I couldn’t believe it,
How could I let it happen again.
I swore to myself,
I would hold out to the end.

But you found your way,
Through all my guarded walls.
So I guess I gotta prepare,
For another mighty fall.

Maybe this once,
I can enjoy the high for a while.
See it’s not so bad when I’m flying,
And your willing to make me smile.

It’s when you decide your tired,
That our time together has run it’s course.
When you’ve decided that I’ve smiled enough,
And you say without remorse,

“I don’t love you”

Maybe it won’t happen,
Maybe it will be different this time,
But I can’t help but feel,
Like I’ve committed a crime.

What ever is in store,
I can’t change it now,
I gotta play the cards,
And see how the hands laid down.

It’s a bit scary,
But I’m excited at the same time,
The chance for a long awaited passion,
To chance to call someone mine.

So I’ll look you in the eyes,
And say it as strongly as it’s felt.
No matter what the stakes are,
This is the hand I was dealt.

“I love you”
