To LaLa, Grandma loves you very much.

It started out as a question,

Grandma I want you to buy me a dolphin

Out of the mouth of a babe

I thought and shared with my spouse

He drew me dolphins,

Said don’t you disappoint that little girl’s request

So I set out and a Quilt was born

Picked her favorite color, purple as the backdrop

Appliqued the dolphin’s in the center with then swimming in a circle

Then the idea for a border, shells

Had a theme going, embroidered the border with shells on muslin

Added a back and a quilt was born, quilted waves to make an ocean

I couldn’t buy her dolphins but I gave her something better

To keep her warm on a cold winters night

To cuddle, snuggle, feel love, and sleep sweet dreams

Wrapped in a box and sent it to her for her birthday

I still have a blanket my grandma made for me. Certainly makes a girl feel special at any age. Nice post.
