As stated.

I.

I made her fall in love, but not with me

Guess it’s just the way it’s meant to be

For I can be oh so romantic when no one can see

She fell for my writings, and yes – not with me…

II.

I made her feel the first tug that a heart can get

The feeling she evoked in me when we first met

But I thought being anonymous was my best bet

So I went down with pen and paper, all my plans set…

III.

I gave her that elation when she received her first letter

signed of course with “from your secret admirer”

She was jumpy and excited as she showed me the paper

Realizing she liked it, nothing more can be sweeter…

IV.

I gave her more, and the more she was falling

for this super gentleman that I was creating

Going on and on, never really realizing

Each letter’s a chisel chip to my heart that’s breaking…

V.

I gave her sleepless nights, made her wish for fruition

Of a love affair that manifested itself only in my creation

Now she’s disappointed that the man of her illusion

Won’t step forward, make her emptiness into completion…

VI.

I gave her hope, for I told her with myself as me

that I can arrange a meeting between her and he

and her reaction was the most endearing thing you’ll see

as she danced around, giggling as happy as she can be…

VII.

I gave her a knowing look, but before I can start

She gave me her expectations and I was blown apart

For she was looking forward to someone who’s really hot

All her description was everything that I was not…

VIII.

I gave her a lover, gave her Cupid’s wings to fly

I gave her the romance I think was worth her while

I gave her dreams, I gave her laughter, I made her smile

Now I’ll give her a broken heart and a reason to cry…

IX.

I gave her my reason, but she’ll have none of it

For she’s still bitter, losing a dream that tasted so sweet

Now, even as friends, our eyes won’t meet

Losing her by my own cursed gift is a crushing defeat…

X.

So here I am again, calling for a light to help me see

A clearer path, use this talent the way it’s supossed to be

Without the guise of pretense, unbound my heart and set it free

Make her fall in love again, this time with me- the real me…

But it’s also the real you in the letters. After all, what you write comes from your heart, right? She just formed an image in her head. And that is sad….

A touching poem. I like the story in this. Sad, but sweet…

    the lost feelings
    of paradise
    she must have phased away
    silently,
into the eternal folds of time ,
    unknowingly ,
    maddenning is this world
    as it does sound,
    still kay dot kay
    in ears does resound,
    but twas along lost battle,
    who was she/he
    a no one if ever
    that one did ever be.
