I don’t believe we have good music now!

I miss the music of 1970-1980s.

Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Professor, Southern University Bangladesh.

Compact Disc, Video CDs began their attack since the 1980s-

It broken down the market

Of turntables and cassette deck.

Before 45minutes of music were loaded in a Long Play,

Now we get 60 minutes or more or whatever way.

Number counts, quality evaporated and not-

Where have those musics gone?

All sounding beats and synthetic;

Where can I find Poco, Pink Floyd and Eagles?

Where are Crosby-Stills-Nash & Young and Camel?

Where are Abba, Bee Gees or Dan Seals?

Who would you compare with Tony Joe white, Dio, Deep Purple and Dan Seal?

Or Rainbow or JJ Cale?

Organic food becomes rare,

As synthesizers become popular-

Original instrument playing finds nowhere.

Now anybody can play and sing,

Could be a queen or at least feel like king.

Only need software;

All you need to make a wish – you are a star if luck favors,

At least a singer.

Or enchanter and dancer-

Now audios become Videos-

As it cheaper for a maker

Artists can tickle you-

By showing their figures.

Music become a commodity like no other-

Singer becomes models-

Models are stars;

In these global village years.
