Just a poem I got to writing right after I left my sweetheart, back to my country for school. I miss her so much!
It is about the last day of my stay there,I called her over for lunch, and made a Ratatouille that was quite the first meal I prepared for her.
And then ended in a very sad goodbye.

I Miss You

It had been a fast Sunday afternoon,

Right after the morning mass, as we walked out,

Out of a dull sermon in church which was quite the only boring part,

Because it was the rest that was more interesting, about it I have no doubt.

My hands ran through the keys of the randy piano,

And she sang in the most amazing voice, my ears caught,

That resembled the voice of an angel, both sweet and calm,

I dreamed on a reality that was an enchanting charm.

Had just an hour to stir up my signature dish,

When I saw the clock that just hit twelve ten,

A hustle in the kitchen to get everything ready,

For a lunch that would ought to be the most amazing of all the eleven.

I was leaving for another place; I had a flight to catch in 9 hours,

So it was just a gathering for a few friends of mine,

I called her too; was overjoyed by the fact that she could make it,

Lunch had to be perfect; cause it was me cooking my Ratatouille bit.

Twenty minutes went by when the door bell came to life,

I jumped, nearly knocking the pot over the fire and onto the floor,

I rushed to the door; it wasn’t her, it was another friend,

We’ve been pals for a long time now, four years I think, yeah it’s got to be four.

Ten more minutes ran like a slow train in sand, and there I heard it again,

Crossing my fingers, I ran out to find someone else enter the door with a smile,

Patience! I screamed to myself and ran back to save the veggies that started to burn,

I needed to relax, I need to chill, all some uneasy peace that around me took its turn.

It was a never ending wait that saw no end,

Through which I knew I had to fight with my might, for the end was magical to be,

My heart was restless; it grew into a five year old,

I was desperate to see her, only she would bring peace to my crazy heart and me.

And just before I threw some fresh oregano, the bell sprang to life,

Staying calm and a little nervous, I ran out into the hall,

Fiddles-me-hand with the stereo, I eyed the door like a hawk,

My angel walked in and smiled at me; it was time or mine that came to stall.

I spoke to her, and speakin to her on and on and on and on,

Troubling her here and there, not to get her too upset,

Coz that would spoil her mood, which I didn’t want to do,

She was an angel, as calm and peaceful, just you would find hardly a few.

Lunch was over as fast as it could get done with,

She said it was amazing, and that I had to teach her how to cook,

Grinning at her, I said that I would only if she would stay back and wait for a moment,

But she couldn’t, she had to rush home; she had to now, away I had to look.

It was amazing being with her, just us and the others unfortunately,

So we couldn’t connect, the way I wanted to, to see a spark between us,

I was crazy and desperate to see her off at the end, but I had to hold myself back,

I removed my wallet and disappointed at the fact, kicked `em in a sack.

She got up and waved me goodbye, I went to her and hugged her,

It was going to be three months before I would ever see her again, how could I just,

Just speak words? Just say goodbye and turn backs,

At each other for a long time that still seems never ending; Love at its crust.

And so I hugged her goodbye and spoke into her ears,

“I’m gonna miss you”, I cried in soft unspoken tears,

With still charm in her face, she gripped me and said the same,

But I knew she was down deep down inside; its part of Love’s game.

And till then, as I write this when we still ought to meet each other,

In happy tears, I whisper into the air, every night and every day,

Hoping through some physics she would hear this in all a few,

At least a few in all; “Darling, my Bunny, I Miss You”.
