This is a poem I composed for my cousin plus best friend, who I call my Muffin..
I remember how you would sit by me, Your milkshake with cream in your hand, Telling me all the most wonderful stuff, That anyone can, about our own little band. Whenever my phone rang, I knew it was a call from you, On weekends, the first knock at my door would be you, The much you would cry and fuss with your parents, And then, how delighted I used to be to see you. Our sleepovers that went on for three nights, And then our talks that would never even end, Your smile that would always cheer me up, And that scream, shivers through me, would send. You lived with your grandma, In another city, Away from your parents, Just to be close to me. But then, your parents took you back with them, They could stand it no more, And here, I was left all alone, As a ship away from its shore. Cannot wait now, for the summer vacation, To meet you, My muffin, my dear. I just hope I will be able to come, Because this is the only time I can meet or wait for another year. Still though we contact through internet, I feel not your presence with me, But, don't you understand, I need it, to meet you, to see...
I miss you, muffin..
