The end of a relationship.
People will wonder what happened
Or perhaps they’ll give us privacy much deserved
Undoubtedly someone will point fingers
Whisper, “She had some nerve!”
True we could keep going
Reconcile one more time
Pretend I have debts still owing
Feed each other more lines
From the outside
We were perfect
On the inside
I worn down
You clinging to false delight
I hate admitting failure
But not as much as losing myself to endless night
Not every day was horrible
We did love each other so
I was proud to be your girl
But for our friendship I must go
