A Poem of night beauty.

I sit upon a rock and watch the waves,

They crash with such force and fly into the air,

The noise it makes sounds like thunder,

Water sprays come down as if in a shower,

I feel not the water that does pour down on me,

I can only look in amazement as this happens,

My thoughts lost as how wonderful it looks,

Moon full with millions of stars in the sky,

Only the slight breeze that fills the night air,

Far in a distance the rustle of waves upon the shores,

Sandy beaches become smaller as the tide rolls in,

Footprints once left in the sand are now washed away,

Only little tiny crabs may now come upon the shore,

I sit and enjoy such a beautiful sight for hours,

The Moon slowly falls the the sun begins to rise,

I felt not tired from being here through the night,

Only noticed the beauty that was in my eyes…

Wow beautiful. There’s something so serene and peaceful about the water at night. This poem reminds of a place me and my friends go in the summer. See I live in Rhode Island and right down the road from Narragansett beach there’s a place called Newton rock which is an enormous rock by the water we usually start a fire and stay there all night. It’s one of the reason’s i never want to leave Rhode Island in the summer.

Wow! You sound just like me. I often sit on the beach in the early evening watching the waves lapping gently on the shore and the shimmer of the moon on the rippling water. There is no feeling to beat it. You have portrayed it beautifully.

Thanks for the nice comments. I do love the ocean, I wish I could get there a lot more often. If I had my choice would live in small cottage by the ocean, or cabin in the woods. I feel lucky that I can still close my eyes and be there…
