Its a poem I wrote in my creative writing class.

I used to dream I’d be
A princess locked in a gray brick castle
Dreaming of my knight coming to rescue me,
An artist painting for museums,
An award- winning author
writing stories of adventure and love,
A movie star
acting in the most renowned movies,
a perfect person
having a perfect life
and a perfect marriage,
and a child
playing tag and goofing off
forever.
but I’m not locked in a tower
that’s encircled by green vines,
I cannot paint,
my writing is not suitable
for an author
I cannot act,
no one works for a perfect marriage anymore
and everyone grows up eventually.
Later on I thought I was cool
by playing football
tackling the guys like they were just air,
going fishing with my dad
trying to prove i can catch a fish,
by not caring what other people thought,
and by arguing to make my point.
But then i realized
most of the time
football is for guys,
fishing is fun,
but it takes a lot of patience,
and arguing with everyone just causes problems.
Now I have to settle for being
A hopeless romantic
Wishing I’ll have a good life and perfect marriage,
And a simple person
Because in the end
The only person I can be
Is me.
