This is a poem I wrote quite some time ago, when me and my dad were getting along.

To you, he means nothing
He’s another man on the street
You wave, but he does nothing
So you call him rude.

I call him my rescuer,
I call him my faith
I call him my dad
And he’s my shining star.

He means everything to me,
And if I could be like him,
I would.
He knows more about computers
Than anyone else I know.
He knows everything,
And I wish I could be like that.

He rarely yells,
And he’s hardly ever truly mad.
He gets scared,
And he gets worried,
But that’s about it.

He loves his family with all his heart,
And he never wants to see them hurt.
He’s a caring person, and he loves me.
If he didn’t love me,
I wouldn’t be here.

He’s my dad
He’s my savior,
And for that,
I’ll always love him.
He’ll never leave me
Or forsake me,
And I know he’s always here.

He might leave for just awhile
But he’s always in my heart,
And no matter what anyone says,
He’ll always return.
Always.
Cuz he’s my dad.
