Based off of a picture prompt. The picture was of a boy walking along a beach holding balloons.

Life has been left as this colorless mess of shapes.
Humanity resulted in cruelty from our greedy passions.
Heart shrunken down three sizes, not a care in the world.
Work gone, slower, less exerted people roaming the streets.
Pride prospering….
Love detonated…..
Hate raging rapid….
Soul nonexistent…..

A young boy walks along society’s beach,
soft footprints left behind in the sand.
He has made his mark in the world,
more than he will ever know;
but no one else knows either.
So much chaos, the world upside down, awry,
that each mark he makes is minor,
and those that he does make are simply
washed away by foamy sea waves.

He takes great pride in what he does,
thankful that he was fearless enough to do anything.
And though his actions have left this world,
he still has his hope, this light in his life to remember;
the world isn’t hopeless, just helpless.
He holds onto his four balloons, their color bright and bold,
grasping his sanity in his hands, knowing he will be there.
“I will help them–” He’d say,
“I will help us.”
