Sometimes frustration make you do things that, under normal circumstances, you would not do. Yelling at God would be at the top of my list of don’ts.

One wrong turn

and I was lost.

Fear flooded my heart,

I tried to stay calm

but it was no use.

Minutes felt like hours,

darkness kissed the sky.

I was lost in a maze of streets

woven like a spider’s web.

I felt trapped! No way out.

The more turns I made

the deeper into the abyss I drove.

I was captured by unfamiliarity,

headlights glared,

honks blared, eyes stared

they dared me to cross.

A grip of fear left no room for hope.

Holding on to my faith was a might task,

I was lost!  My feelings went from fear

to despair to rage.  I yelled at God.

GOD, HELP ME!

DON’T YOU SEE ME?

I NEED YOUR HELP!

HELP ME!!!”

GOD replied,

“Shhhh, the freeway is straight ahead.”

And, so it was.

I think most of us have been there… it’s not a pleasant experience!

We tend to panic at times when we seem to be lost. Nice poem.

Aw! I love this poem. Beautiful, marvelous. To God be the glory. The FREEWAY is always up ahead, and in the heat of trouble, it’s even closer. This poem made my day. God always lead us to freedom from struggle. He’s driving, not the devil. Awesome poetry!

I went back to read it again. Truly annointed words Sister Oh!

Beautifully written! OhSugar, after your poem entitled “Split Decision” I thought that the decision was to split since you were a bit quiet for awhile :) Once again, wonderfully worded.

Oh Sugar…It seems like ages since I have had the privilege of readinf one of your poetic gems…but this made the wait well worthwhile…An awesome poem…little did you realize that while you were meandering the maze of streets God had His hand on the wheel…something similar to Footprints in the Sand. and not only did He utter the words “The Freeway is Straight Ahead”…He also uttered to oft unheard words “I Love You My Child”…This is truly a real gem…I voted that I Like It even though I LOVE IT…Thanks and take care

A great poem!. When we lose our way in life, we panic with desperation. The right thing to do is calm down until we get out of the labyrinth of confusion.

  • serowa on Mar 16, 2011

What a beautiful reflection of the truth. I know I have been there and later felt so silly to think that I thought God would forsake me when He has promised never to. Great work!!!

beautiful poem, it shows human tendency to panic in problems, but we should have faith that everything will be allright

  • Likha on Mar 17, 2011

We can all identify with these moments when God is our only hope, and He seems not around. But every moment of fear is an opportunity to believe. Inspiring poem.

We feel it sometimes when things aren’t so good that we feel we’re drowning and gasping for air…then suddenly we feel being lifted…i guess, this is what we call life…with its ups and downs. :)

This poem leaves no doubt that Ohsugar is a born poet. The poem is very intense with sacred tone. God can be won only through Love.

Making up for all the times you missed out on talking to him maybe. He understands your build up of frustration. You yelled out for help. That’s good. God’s got a love that lasts forever. You can always start over and try again. He will forgive you and he knows the heart. Great poem.

Sometimes yelling works wonders for your frustrations.

  • LadyElena on Mar 30, 2011

Holding on to Faith in difficult times is challenging after all, God said He loves us. We just have to be patient. He is there and many times working out something better for us or waiting for the perfect timing.

I will be honest and admit the few times I’ve been angry, not understanding why was going through frustrating times, the miracle came through in a matter of hours and I felt guilty. I have learnt since then to simplyTrust.

I know it sounds stupid, but once in a while, I really did that. I yelled at God.

  • ashfrin on Apr 11, 2011

I’ve yelled at god before myself. I was scared and I felt like he couldn’t hear me. This poem remind me of that situation. It’s very realistic.
