A poem about a love so strong that it is willing to let go with only a promise that no matter what happens that love will still be there in the end.

a poem by a deaf poet.

go and walk to the realms of your own happiness and delight,
reclaim your freedom and uncharted inhibitions,
although it may be a painful sore thorn in my sight,
i could never imprison you under any futile restrictions.

i have ventured and mastered that realm before,
and i know how it feels to be that free,
but you were never given the chance to explore,
so all i can do is let you be.

go and be happy and make mistakes,
who am i to hold you back?
when i could not even hug you tight no matter how my heart aches,
maybe you’ll find the missing pieces with some luck.

and in the end if all else fails,
when you are left alone and do not know what else you can do,
just tread back and follow the same trails,
I’d always be here to come home to…
