Written March 2011 Jackson County Jail.
To make short a long tale
I place a neuse around my neck
Preparing an early venture to hell
When all at once I was sorely vexed
Not at life but at my compell
To draw short that night wich God had blessed
So forthwith with courage in my heart
I set a steady foot to know the sarrow of knowledge
With select and seperation I ser apart
From those who labor only in their toilage
And sat down where I stood to begin and start
Among the greenery of Gods fuilage
Twas there my problem I did see
That no man should be free of labor
Far from idleness stems musery
And such a sin is none the graver
So setting forth with my hands to be what I could be
Only stopping to take time to praise our Lord and Savior
