Guilt can be a dark and scary thing, but seeing it as a color takes away its power.
If guilt was a color,
What would it be?
Blue like the sky,
Green like a tree?
Would it be red,
Like a cardinal in flight?
Would it be yellow,
Or would it be white?
How about brown,
The color of earth?
It could even be black,
For all that it’s worth.
If guilt was a color,
I believe it would be
Nothing but gray,
Nothing to see.
If guilt was a color
Surely it’s clear,
Adds more to its mystery
More to fear.
