If I Could Write in The Shower

Ideas, words and phrases are like tropical fish, darting too fast to be caught.

If I could write in the shower

I’d be world famous by now,

my name uttered in awe

by admiring fans.

While enjoying the freshness

of my morning shower

ideas come tumbling down

with each drop of water,

splashing over me faster than I

can capture those gems.

Like elusive tropical fish darting

through shimmering depths,

brilliant ideas sparkle

in my watery domain,

splashing down as words and phrases,

only to fade once

each droplet is shattered

by the drying towel.

The rising hot water bills

would no longer be relevant,

as the idea droplets would

pay for themselves.

Oh, if only I could

write in the shower.

I feel the pain of the speaker in this poem. I get a good many ideas in the shower. Luckily, I remember most of them. Great photo.

Great ideas pop into our heads when we are totally unprepared. Now, if you had a way to bring a notepad into the shower, you wouldn’t be able to think of a thing!
