Stumble upon an obstacle in the dark, slipping and stumbling, who will pick me up when I fall down.

If I slip will you lift me up
Or will you call me clumsy
Watch where you are going
Pay attention to details
You should have known better
Slipping and sliding on snow and ice
Fall down on grass, tripped over a pebble
Sliding on floors, stumbling down stairs
Tightening my grip on the handle bars
If I slide, who will stop my slip
If I stumble will I fall on my face
Or will I be quick to arrest my fall
If I fall will I be bruised inside and out
Ashamed and embarrassed, lost and hurt
Feeling the sting of despair and resentment
Stumble upon an obstacle in the dark
Slip on a toy cause I wasn’t looking
Fall down a ladder, it wasn’t secure
Mumbling and stumbling, I forgot
Stumbling and slipping I fall down
If I fall will you pick me up
Dust me off and say its okay
If I fall, I will get up, and shake it off
I will be wiser, stronger, better,
I am fine, I am not hurt, it was nothing
If I slip it’s because I’m flesh and bones
If I hurt it’s because I can feel
If I get up its because I can
Or because you gave me your hand
If you don’t see that, it’s cause you’re blind.
