After children are born, they learn to love at first. The bad things such as hate and envy are learned much later. If only we could learn to love unconditionally, as an innocent child does, things would be much better in our world.
Looking into my little one’s eyes
Or watching her in the yard at play
Her beautiful spirit is so unblemished
No cares haunt her, just joy each day
When she wraps her arms around my neck
That is the most perfect place to be
If only we could love as she loves
With no strings, unconditionally
If only this old world could harness
Her innocence and her purity
Surely mankind would have the power
To destroy evil, hate and envy
A child is undefiled by the world
If only their example we’d heed
To hate no one and love everyone
A better world it would be indeed
