Do not cry, if she shows herself,
when the river runs fast and deep
and the torrential rains slap you down,
and it frightens you out of sleep,
Show defiance,
Show your rage,
Stand up and dance in delight,
Be free from your cage,
You wanted to know the world,
it has showed you what she is,
Not always pretty, not always safe,
Not one secret has she hid,
So do not cry, when she shows herself,
She has shown you her best and worst,
She can be cruel and kind, her bad and good,
soft and sweet, blessed and cursed,
but always she is our mother, this thing called Earth.
