Acknowledging the people I take for granted but couldnt live without.
If they took you from me my soul would diminish into tiny pieces
You’d hear the restraint of my heart as the steady rhythm decreases
If they took you from me Id be drug away as tears dig riverbeds through my cheeks
With the sound of rushing rapids as all the tears leave their streaks
If they took you from me id fight with every bit of my power, every ounce of my existence
Id fight through all the barriers in between me and you with only God as my assistance
If they took you from me I’d be left completely perplexed about how to keep my life going
They’d build concrete dams throughout the river of my mind keeping it from flowing
If they took you from me I’d be left with a pen, paper and an empty tank of inspiration
Hitch hiking in need of transportation to get through the arid vastness of my tribulations
If they took you from me I’d be as cold as the snow falling in the arctic
It’d be like taking the keys to my life and expecting me to start it
If they took you from me they’d be taking the sun from our solar system, the atmosphere from the place we call home
Leaving me unprotected as im left lonely with empty space to roam
If they took you from me they’d set ablaze a rage hotter than the depths of hell
“When they took you away from me”…that’s one story i hope i never have to tell
