A poem about the end of marriage.

If things had been different,
I might still be your loyal wife.
Instead I chose to end our marriage,
for I needed a calm peaceful life.

I couldn’t stand the constant arguing,
nor the emotional abuse from you.
With the help of a very special friend,
I found the courage to say we’re through.

We both agreed to separate in June,
for seven months we have been apart.
We declared our marriage to be over,
I’m finally ready for a fresh new start.

Now that we’re living separate lives,
I feel so much happier than before.
I have found a wonderful loving man,
who I will love and cherish forevermore.
