If We Live, How Will We Live?

Pondering the mechanics of a scrupulous life.

If we are stronger today because of yesterday,
will we be stronger tomorrow because of today?
If the cost of living is the the act of leaving

Who, if anyone is prepared to reach into their heart’s
pocket and effectively pay?

If what we do
Is a means of defining us and validating our existence
Do you believe it?
If not, does that still make it true?
Then is a man who scrubs toilets less of a man
Then the one who fleeces folks of their saving
and,
Spends vacations relaxing in exotic lands
Tipping the help as if to absolve himself of his immoral scams?
Which man or woman are you?
If life is really what we make it
Then are we really not showing effort?
If our life has taken detours from our dreams
Will we be exalted or eventually and summarily damned?

I hope to live a life that I can look back on and not be ashamed, that will somehow make a difference, and that passes something good on to the next generation.

Pristine! You cause us to look within and examine what we see. The examined life is not worth living. I’m always amazed at how many quality poets and writers we have on Triond. Brilliant!

I made a new account not thinking that folks may be afraid to add me. Well, my friend, that one has begun to send pages and pages to administration, spamming them relentlessly. They are complaining on the threads.They will soon fix this situation for good.
You know, I don’t care about $30 which I made on Triond. The friendships are priceless. I’m trimming my friends list to those I can truly handle. I love poetry and am a fan of Joe, The Real Poet. Your poetry is awesome and hopefully you keep hard copies. Truly fine poetry. Delete this also, I just wanted to drop a line.
