Attempts by man to exterminate dangerous insects have ended in failure.
To whom should I report
These illegal tenants
Who share apartments in my estate
Without as much as recognise my person
Not to talk of paying of rent?
Who is out there?
Save me, if you can,
From this hoarde
Of crawling,flying,buzzing,zigzagging racket.
Guns and batons seem useless
In ferreting them out of their crevices;
Lances and swords do no damage
To their fragile wings
And with impunity they sneer
At the ferocious nozzle of the insecticide.
They brazenly kick at my fevered cheeks
With their meatless thighs
And guffaw at my febrile face
As I lay drenched on the bed
Sending a signal code of heat vibration
All around my dinghy room.
