Illuminate My Soul

The sun brings light but she illuminates my soul.

It is first light now
The beginnings of a day
Only a diffuse glow it is
The sun still is far away

We await detail in all things
There is no color yet
For my eyes need more light
To see those things distinctly

But I do see by lover near
She is lying by my side
Sleeping in her peacefulness
Surrounded by her dreams

Like the sun
She too will be rising soon
The sun to illuminate the earth
Her love to illuminate my soul

I liked this poem. Especially the last two lines has finality that goes back to what you were saying overall. I also liked the description of your experience of seeing the light slowly come up and your lover near. Very realistic and slightly romantic. I can imagine being in the silence with you. Quite scary isnt it?
